Well…….I sold my Cali30 HS and bought my dream Ferrari, which is a Ferrari with 4 real seats as you know.

    However, it’s not a 612 as I had planned. I bought instead a 2020 Lusso.

Thanks for everyone who provided their insights/opinions and experiences, it’s well appreciated :)

This is my first post on the forum—glad to be here! I joined because I’ve always loved the 612. I have a 2025 Carrera T currently on the water, but a local dealer near me has a 2005 612 Scaglietti for sale that’s caught my attention. I’ve always had a soft spot for Ferrari 2+2s, and with a toddler and a baby on the way, I need something with four truly usable seats (this would be my third car).

I didn’t expect to love the 612 as much as I did—especially since I’m usually a hardcore manual transmission purist—but this one really surprised me. The car just had around $35K in recent service (including the clutch, timing belts, ball joints, and more), and it's being sold on consignment.

That said, I’ve never purchased a first model year car before, and I’m a little nervous about making this my first Ferrari. The color isn’t my favorite, but the extensive recent maintenance does help offset that. I’m wondering—how risky is it to go with a first model year 612, versus waiting for a later model year in a spec I like more?

The asking price is $130K with around 22K miles, which feels high for a 2005. However, I’ve seen the service receipts, and it’s clearly had a lot of recent investment. The dealer mentioned the owner is motivated to sell, so I’m thinking there may be room to negotiate—possibly into the $100K–$110K range, which could make this a very strong value.

This thread has been incredibly helpful already—thanks to the OP and everyone who’s contributed!

I bought my 10K Mile 2007 612 with HGTC Package from my Dealer listed for $119,000 for $110,000 so it sounds high, but I bought mine 2 years ago & prices have gone up recently... but still 130K sounds high.
