    A 2006 612 that I’ve had for several years throws up P0496 when idling for several minutes – in heavy stop-and-go traffic for instance. After reset, the car can be driven for months without a problem just so long as there is no prolonged idling involved. A city trip at rush hour will almost always cause the fault to re-appear.

    Any ideas? Thank you for your comments.
