Hi all. I hope to acquire a 612 in the near future but am unclear as to what parts, if any, are becoming scarce for them. For example, I was surprised to learn recently that certain critical components of 360s are already becoming scarce, despite the car being out of production merely 18 years.

I'd also welcome knowledge regarding the "big ticket" items to expect (even if the parts are available). I assume the F1 components are near the top of the list but what are some others?

    Thanks for any insights.

Based on my experience with a 2010 OTO, the central computer and the lcd screen to the left of the tachometer are the most vulnerable items. It's always the electronics that are the bothersome components. I've also had trouble with a proximity sensor sticking on and causing a buzzer to sound long after it should have deactivated, but that last one is not a significant financial threat -- I only cite it to illustrate my point that the electronics are the vulnerable part of the car. The engine and drive train are tough as nails.

I have had my 2008 OTO since Feb of 2018 and driven it about 7K miles.
The radio stopped receiving but works well with the Bluetooth and stored music.
    That’s it.
Lots of shared parts with 575,599 and others.

Pretty much a solid mechanical car, but I found interior parts a bit difficult to obtain, but what isn't these days. Common issues can be found here in the forums, like the "T" handle gear shift (Hill has them, not hard to replace), Stick Buttons (it's a Ferrari thing), if the Battery is questionable in the slightest, just replace it, it will solve a bunch of possible quirky, intermittent electrical issues. Service belts, annual fluid changes are all readily available, just do them. Oh and most of all, DRIVE IT!

+1 on the interior parts. Window switches especially, though repair is possible.

These cars share a lot of components with other F cars, so most parts that wear are readily available either from Ferrari or from the aftermarket. Thinking about things like suspension ball joints.

The gauge cluster screen is a good shout, but there are a few specialists that will repair tour failing screen, so no big deal there either. Same with the suspension- couple of companies doing this for the supposedly unserviceable Sachs dampers.

All parts supply for Ferraris of that age are no longer handled by Ferrari. It is all turned over to Maranello Classic in England but are still sold through dealers via Maranello Classic to Ferrari SpA then to your dealer. Or you can just go direct to Maranello Classic. Maranello Classic has exclusive rights to manufacture and sell as officially Ferrari parts. They sometimes run out of the less common stuff and wait for a demand to have more made. I'd call them direct.

As I was told on this very forum, just relax and buy one, life is short :). At the shows I look at all the early 80s Ferrari cars which are immaculate in every way and think if they can keep theirs like that there must a way to keep a late 2000s car well too. Agree window switches as above. Top of dash pulls away too in sunlight. There is a place in Germany called ATD sports car that have lots of hard to find 2nd hand parts. Big ticket items can be misleading, eg replacing all the ball joints, wishbone bushes, drop links can be over £3000.00 much more at AD. good luck !
