Does anyone know of any ways to get more power out of the 612 with out getting into crazy mods. I am looking for maybe 50hp more...but with out getting too ambitious. Any ideas?

Just curious.... how did you determine that 50HP is going to make the 612 any better?

"Modified Luxury & Exotics" (www.modifiedle.com) magazines September/October edition featured a Hamann Motor Sport (www.hamann-motorsport.com) modified 612 and a Lamborghini LP640. They claim there exhaust system increases horsepower from 540 to 590 and dropped 2/10ths of a second off of the zero-60 on the 612.

They also offer wheels, body and suspensions mod's. The rear spoiler is MAYBE the only piece I would add. Interested to hear others thoughts on their products.

I drove a 612 yesterday. It seemed to have plenty of power.

50hp would be about 10%, I would think that depending on where in the power band the additional power was, that you could barely notice a 10% increase.

410SA, Acutally its not that a specific amount in HP is going to make the car better....I personally think the car is just brilliant with the right amount of everything...however....I find that I am not getting as much mid-range punch as I would like...and my accelleration once hitting the higher revs...peaks...I am looking for more HP and torque to be able to get more raunchy power delivery out of the car.

Do you have any suggestions? I am interested to see the hammann system...although...the tubi is just the best sounding I have heard. Any idea how much extra hp it might give over stock?

    50hp from an exhaust.........

not a chance. I challenge them to PROVE that. Sales hype, pure and simple.

my guess is you can probably find an engine management chip that will get you this kind of power rise from remapping. BUT this comes with a health warning: you will void your warranty if its still active, and you will also end up chanjging some other characteristic of the car - most likely the round-town driving bing less frenetic etc.

    +1.

It's simply impossible, with only an exhaust.

I doubt anyone can get that much from an exhaust...I am sure they have other upgrades.

As far as I am concerned I do not want to void any warranty....I guess I will have to stick with stock....NO PRob!!!!

    thanks guys.

To be quite honest - and I dont mean to add adolescence to the page - but what is the fear of Twin Turboing? It would seem to me that exhaust modification, fiddling with the computer a bit, and a TT kit is a key to worlds of power. Am I thinking correctly about this or is this all a bit to 'ricer'? :)

Forced induction is great; I have applied that theory to several makes & models with success. But the 612 engine just needed to breathe - and the computers just needed to know what language I was speaking (the language of power). The car went from just about 540 HP, to 612 HP (a crazy fluke!) with my 1st try, and now 633 with the flowed manifolds. I am not done yet. I am having a custom rear gear commissioned so I can attempt to get a 3.1 zero-sixty clocking for this car.
