    Hello,

So 12 days into my 612 ownership the car randomly selects neutral instead of 4th gear. First, second and third gear are accessible but for 4th and 5th the car pops into neutral. The clutch wear on the last service visit was 71% and I have been reading that people generally reach different wear levels and that the correct time for a clutch service is when the symptoms start appearing. Pls advise, Thanks!

Many possible causes, only one of which is a worn-out clutch. Have somebody who knows the F1 system and how to visually check wear on the clutch diagnose the problem. Could be as simple as PIS needing optimizing or needing an F1 service, which should be done every three years. That includes fluid change and bleed, leak check, and self test.

Sure, the car is a 2004 model with 66,600 KMs mileage and the last clutch wear reading was 71% usage. I bought the car about 2 weeks ago and moved it to the south of France where I drive it regularly up and down hill.

Thanks! Yes, it will need a trip to the service center very soon to diagnose the issue.

Sounds like it need a clutch.

However it could be the brake light switch.

Same thing happened in my 2004 575M. Replaced relays in the F1 system fixed the problem.

My clutch had 68k kms and 73% wear according to the latest Ferrari diag system (DEIS I believe). The clutch was completely worn, I mean totally done. There is an issue with clutch wear readings on the 612 OTO. You must use an actual SD3.

If you decide the change the clutch spend some time on the parts list. There are a few things that are very hard to find, even for the dealers.
