612 Scaglietti steering rack rebuild

In my rack's case, the inner rod on the right side was rusted/pitted from moisture intrusion past the boot, so it had to be built back up & both sides were then polished, all seals were replaced, new boots fitted and new outer rods were installed.

So it was quite a bit more work than just seal replacement, but the price was still very reasonable at $425. So I'm at a loss to understand why they increased the price so much on Chris' job, unless the 599's rack is substantially different from the 550's, which I doubt, or Chris' rack needed a lot more work than mine, or it was just the Ferrari tax that drove the price up.
