It looks like the 612 has taken quite a hit in its first year. Just saw this low mileage no stories example on Ebay going for 210K "Reserve Met" with a 269.5K MSRP. Local Southern California car.

Another year like this and it'll be same as a used 575M. Nice car in the 160K range I believe.
Consider this: A year ago the 612 sold for 30K over sticker...about 300K....ouch!!!

It's a manual transmission and another dealer bought it for resale.

Well that means that dealer paid even less for it...thats just scary...I love the 612, why does the resale have to tank so horribly!?

Ferrari front engined cars do not seem to appeal to American buyers. That is a shame. Maybe the 599GTB will be different?

Hideous car, Ferrari will hopefully learn a lesson from the 612's lack of demand on the secondary market. Pininfarina needs to go in a new direction...

No, that means the dealer thinks he can sell it for more than he paid for it... in other words, he thinks it was a steal.

Four-seater Ferrari's have a terrible history of resale value. Just take a look at the secondary markert for a low-mileage 456GT that's maybe 4 years old. You're paying somewhere around 45 to 50 cents on the dollar.

If you really want a 612, wait another 36 months and I'd be willing to bet you'll buy one for 55 to 60 cents on the dollar.

Many times, buying a Ferrari in the primary market just doesn't make a lot of sense ...

did anybody read the window sticker? It says electronic 4 speed transmission with overdrive and lock up torque converter. What the hell is that about? the pictures clearly show the 6 speed manual but i would like to know how the hell that 4 speed auto got on the sticker.

Just wait 15 years and you'll get one at 400i prices. :D

It's too bad that a car with such respectable performace is in such and ugly body. The interior is nice though.

Well I was using the logic that he was content with getting atleast his reserve (hence the reserve) therefore he most likely owns the car for less than his reserve which I think is downright scary on a car that cost 270k new. I could be wrong and he could be just playing games and could just cancel the auction at the last moment...but nevertheless judging by the direction the prices are heading it doesnt look good; I would have thought the 612 would have held up better than the 456, guess I was wrong.

This is the only 612 to hit this low.ALL others have been trading around the 250k mark. The whole thing is strange. This 612 was sold new on the east coast then shows up on the west coast for sale. What kills it the most is Manual transmission that is the kiss of death in this Ferrari.Above all we don't know prior wreck history 9 out 10 times a car going for far less than market has some bad history.

I always find these posts funny, it is a car it is supposed to be worth less as soon as you sign the papers. Some of are just spoiled by the last 7 years of waiting lists and crazy over sticker prices. Wanna feel bad, how about those poor people who paid 250K for a Z8 when it first came out, or the more recent FordGT, hell dealers are only giving a 140 on a 05 trade in. The PorscheCGT ( used now selling at mid 300's)That 612 is a stick (not real desirable in that car) and Ferrari has slowed production on them to pretty much ordered cars only. I say enjoy the feeling behind the wheel.
