The 612 manual transmission car on Copart, 157304, has a really high serial number. It's higher than the Sessantas, for instance, and has to be one of the last manual 612s made. Maybe THE last?

Anyone have a list of 612 serial numbers, or at least first and last, that sort of thing?

Mine is 161202, built about the same time as yours. They built a bunch all at once.

My 612 OTO is 160591, it is an F1 trans car. I do not know the build date as it doesn't have a door tag. The original delivery date/warranty start date was Feb 22, 2009 with Ferrari SpA as the owner. It was registered in Geneva, Switzerland around that time with Ferrari **marketing** as the importer. In Switzerland, that makes it a 2009 model, but the serial number fits with the early 2008 cars.

Production date for 157304 is late Sept / early Oct, 2007. Sessentas are from 156XXX to 159XXX. MY08 starts from ~157000. Some years ago there was for sale manual HGTC in France ( yes, I was wondring that combo ) with 11/2007 registration date.

My 612 is 158224 (MY08 according to the tag on the door). Don't know the date of production.

I picked it up at the factory in early July 2008. It was actually ready in June, but I had some things going on and couldn't get there before then.

Sounds like there is a decent chance 157304 is it. Maybe I should ask Marcel.

It doesn't seem like a surprise that an American would order the last manual transmission 612.

My door tag says my 07 has a production date of Sept 07 and is number 155311. So 157304 certainly is after that.

If you are asking about the last manual transmission, the last number for one I have is 157319, but I don't have a date to go with it.

Don- Here are a couple of dates that bracket that SN. 155353 June 2007, 157969 November 2007, so probably Oct/Nov 2007 for 157304 or 157319.

Ferrari made 6465 cars in 2007. Montly average ( factory closed a few weeks each year ) was about 600 cars. This is my I wonder this: " My door tag says my 07 has a production date of Sept 07 and is number 155311. So 157304 certainly is after that. " 155311 should be in June - not in September - and it's pure MY07 car.

First, I would of course defer to Marcel for better information. Hopefully this will help though.

I know very little about Ferrari production and don't have a lot of research resources. But from what I see, there is no hard and fast rule or chronological order to the sequencing of serial numbers, models, assembly numbers, or special car numbers that correlate with production dates. I'm sure that business operations are fluid, and from the beginning of production for the year, different models have different assembly rates, start dates, completion dates, etc. that take varying amounts of time to complete. Special runs can interrupt those too. These are not widgets or Toyota Corollas where millions are made and Toyota has it down to the exact number of hours it takes to build one. Toyota's processes are very automated, and 612's were still being built by hand of course. I would imagine 360's are more consistent

I've picked out a few bits of information from my limited research surrounding the car in question and posted below. There are a lot of cars in between these serial numbers, but I don't have other relevant data so I left them out.

    157258 - 11/07 - F430 assembly #74533
    157297 - 10/07 - 612 #12 of 60 Sessanta
    157301 - ??/?? - 612 assembly #74532
    157303 - ??/?? - 612 assembly #74595
    157304 - ??/?? - 612
    157309 - 09/07 - 599 GTB
    157311 - ??/?? - 612
    157312 - 10/07 - 599 GTB
    157339 - 06/07 - 612
    157342 - ??/?? - 612 #40 of 60 Sessanta
    157497 - ??/?? - 612 #18 of 60 Sessanta

As I understand it, serial numbers are assigned sequentially at the time the order is placed.
Assembly numbers are assigned sequentially when production begins.
I do not know if they wait for, say, a dozen orders of the same model or just randomly start building cars.

That would explain some odd differences between manuafacturing dates in the factory data system and dates in the VIP book.
