    That's my car and this is the first I've heard about any possible prior damage. I had Ferrari of OC inspect the car and they did not report anything.

    The wheels are Forgelines and I also have the stock modular wheels as well

    That's what I asked as well. The general theory seems to be that something may have been spilled on it before it was painted.

    FNA indicated my car was not the first one they had seen with this issue. In fact, they wouldn't guarantee that a replacement door (which they had) wouldn't have this problem.

    Aluminum corrodes in different ways, from the air or from salt. An aircraft can have granular corrosion just from old age. It turns to a whiteish powder and can be really bad if exposed to salt, like in seaplanes. The right primer and alodining ( etching type treatment) can protect it, but over time it can appear on bare metal or beneath painted surfaces if not prepped right. Doubt a car will have issues unless in winter salted street areas, just like steel corrodes in those areas. New primers seem to do a good job.
