is the tranny in the 2007 limited edition sessanta the same as the later imprived tranny that came with the one to one version available in 2008 and later ? also sessanta values I would assume should be very similar to an 08 or 09 one to one version ? thanks in advance

Hard to tell if the Seassanta had the 599 based transmission and dual plate clutch because there is no mention of it in the Ferrari press releases. The Sessanta was only available with F1 shifter and came with CCM brakes standard, two features of the OTO, but you would think if it had the new, dual plate clutch, they would have mentioned it. They did mention it in the OTO releases. No manual transmission availability hints it did have the new case and clutch, but that is all it does, hints.

Sorry I could not be more help.

I thought the Sessanta had the same transmission as the OTO, but I could certainly be wrong.

In any event, functionally it should be pretty similar to an OTO, but I would guess that a Sessanta would sell for more because of the rarity, especially if the particular badge had meaning to a particular buyer. Of course, if there is no one who especially wants that Sessanta, then I guess it might sell for around the same.

There have been a few for sale, they seem to be fetching a bit more than you would expect for a highly spec'd non Sessanta. Certainly not a premium though.

What I was told but trying to confirm is that the Sessanta did not come with the newer F1 system that was later placed in the OTO. However I am told that if that Sessanta was ordered with the HGT1 package, then that package included a tranny upgrade and did give the car that faster F1 system same as the OTO versions being offered starting in 08. If that is the case then a 2007 Sessanta with the HGT1 package should essentially drive no different than an 08 or newer OTO correct ? the reason I ask is I am considering an 07 Sessanta with the HGT1 package but dont have time to go drive it. I have driven an 08 OTO and know what that car drives like but I have never driven an older not OTO car but I am told there is a big difference in how they drive. Really trying to determine hat is the difference if any from the 07 sessanta with HGT1 package vs a 2008 thru 2010 OTO car ? thanks in advance

The HGTS package included an F1 ECU/TCU that had slightly quicker shifting than the standard 612, so that is probably where the confusion originated. The OTOs do not have the GTO F1 system, but they did have a 599 derived transmission and dual plate clutch with "improved shifting time" and an HGTS package was again available. Whether the OTO/OTO HGTS lined up with the 599/HGTE 100 ms/85 ms shift times, I do not know. They did not have the GTO's 60 ms shift time.

HGTS Package includes: Sports Exhausts, Modular Wheel Rims 19″ with Sport Tires, Colored Brake Calipers, Specific Suspension Control ECU, Revised F1 Gearbox Software with Shorter Gear Shift times.

The Sessanta HGTS package would not include the 19" wheels, obviously.
