I have. 05 612 with 25,000kms on the clock. During the cold start engine vibrates a bit similar to having a miss but diagnostic doesn’t pick up anything . There are no visible sign of RPm drop or any usual noise. When the engine is warm it ticks over nicely . Is this a common thing or are spark plugs on the way out ?

If so, what’s the best replacement ? I believe the original factory series are not being produced . What’s the latest NGK model for this engine ?

The best plug is the NGK Iridium DCPR9EIX, NGK part number 2316. Have been running those in my F133E engine for several years. Yours is an F133F and NGK recommends that plug for 612s.

    Thank you !
Would it be resolving the shaky idle ?

Probably not the problem causing the shaking, but it is the correct spark plug. Could be any number of things that you really need to have diagnosed with an SD3 or equivalent by an expert.

There are no codes . Will replace the spark plugs to see if it makes any difference . Would throttle body misalignment causes it ? And would a battery shut off and reconnect reprogram the throttle bodies ?

A reset will start everything off again and erase any codes for diagnosis. If you have none, nothing lost. Plug change will also show you whether you have a bad coil pack. They are all a bit rough on cold start with all the extra fuel being dumped in. Leaky fuel injectors can also cause more problems on the initial cold start. Try a double start to eliminate that problem. Start and if the start is rough, shut her down and start again. If the second start is smooth, having the injectors cleaned and resealed will usually cure that.

Thank you . Start ups are smooth and quick hot and cold . Will do the battery reset to see what happens . Does the battery need to be disconnected for any specific period of time ?

No, use the battery disconnect switch, with the AC and stereo turned off, and it only has to be off a minute or so. Here is a procedure gleaned from several WSMs.

    Run cycle.

Turn battery disconnect switch off and turn off all accessories (stereo, A/C, etc).

Let engine get completely cold or wait at least 30 minutes.

    Reconnect disconnect switch.

    Disarm immobilizer with the fob.

Insert key in ignition and leave for 30 seconds.

Turn ignition to on and leave for 30 seconds.

Turn ignition off and leave for 30 seconds.

Turn ignition on, wait for Check OK, and start. May have to push fob again if 120 seconds have elapsed since last fob actuation.

Let idle with no input whatsoever for 10 minutes.

Turn accessories back on and drive gently for 10-15 minutes at least.

You will have to insert stereo code, if required.
