Hi all, I have USA spec 612 Scag 2005. It has a black tach (standard) and MPH speedo, I am planning to take my car overseas and want to see if I can change the color of the tach to yellow or red, and if I can switch the speedo from MPH to KPH. Does anyone know if this can be done? Will a dealer be able to do this? Please fill me in.

    Thanks

    MJ

You can swap the face plate, but that will involve tearing apart the instrument panel to get the speedo out, and you will have to have a spare plate ready to go. Aren't the speedos in the 612s digital???? I would imagine that there is a function to change from MPH to KPH. Plus you'll need a special tool to take the needle of and press it back on. If you reeeeeeeeally wanna do it I would remove it then take it to a speedo shop and have them change the face plates. Me........I would leave it as is.

    Ernie,

Thanks for the tip. You are right the digital read out can be changed from MPH to KPH, but its the actual speedo I want to change, and I love the yellow color tach. Would a dealer do this?

    Thanks again.

I doubt it. I would imagine they would try to sell you brand new one, which you don't need.
