Hi there guys, Im sure Ive missed previous discussions about this, but here goes.

I have a 2006 612, which is a great car, lovely, so fast it makes my 430 seem like my go-cart! However, the TFT screen is iffy. It does flicker when on sometimes, just a bit like the power fades in and out quickly, but I tend to put that down to the alternator feeding it as i notice it at startup. However, the main issue is that the screen very often goes almost light-less, where instead of a bright white background, it goes almost grey as though it has been turned down way below the minimum available on the dash.

I bought the car new, and ferrari have had it in 4 times to sort, they have rewired parts, replaced looms, added a new earth strap, and various other things. I have now lost my temper, as I have always just taken the car back when they say 'its fixed, keep an eye on it', and in the next trip it happens again. The car is about to come out of warranty (8/2009)

Is there an obvious fix, or is my demand when I dropped it off yesterday at the dealers to replace the screen the only way (or is it even the screen itself anyway?)

Sorry to be a pai, but Ive almost lost the will to live on this one as its such an annoying problem to have with an amazing car

If your warranty is ending, make sure the dealer goes through it with a fine tooth comb, fix it all under warranty. complain complain and complain. Ferrari loves to deny coverage under warranty everrywhere they can and anytime they can. You should consider buying the powercube extended warranty. I was only able to buy the power, due the previous owner allowing the orig. warr. to lapse. Big mistake, huge!!

If the dealer is unable to correct the problem I would request the assistance of a service tech from Ferrari UK

Make sure it's fixed before the warranty expires-- preferably by replacing screen. I wonder if they CAN replace only the screen, or if the entire instrument cluster has to be replaced?

In any event, don't let it go.

By no means is this legal advice, but in the States we have lemon laws in pretty much every state. If a problem started during warranty and has been ongoing, even when it is out of warranty the issue still needs to be corrected at no cost to the buyer (some states differ slightly) Does England have anything like that?
