starting to look at 612's I have come across a used 2008 with hgte package but not an oto about 2500 miles. would be about 90k less than buying a new (but discounted) 2010 OTO. having never driven either car yet I wanted some feedback on how big of a difference the 2 cars will drive and it is really worth 90k more. a few people have told me an OTO is a totally different car but they were all dealers trying to sell an OTO. I thought much of the difference we actually related ot the hgte option and the OTO was mostly just the sunroof but maybe I am missing something. and feedback appreciated as well as feedback on current market pricing of a 2008 or newer low mile car. thanks in advance

I think the most noticeable differences are the transmission, and the Bose sound system. OTOs also had more interior choices, and were often more individualized.

The transmission is significantly improved-- not only at fast, high power shifts, but even more at low speed shifting around town.

I would drive both before you decide.

I don't think your going to notice a big difference in driveability. Just cosmetics. Please let us know if you do drive both and if notice substantial differences.

i owned a 2005 612 and now i just purchased a 2008 oto and i will tell you night and day , trans is new super fast from 599 and suspension much better from 05 , more planted and alot less noise from strut tower bearings intruding into cabin , also new 612 coming will be a hatchback alla porsche panamera ,ugly , so if you buy a 612 oto used it will hold its resale value alot more than earlier cars because of low production numbers.

I test drove an 08 HGTS and an 09 OTO.........before buying the 08. No discernable difference given the same suspension, exhaust, tyres etc. I didn't notice any discernable difference in the gearbox. I thought the sun roof was tacky.......but horses for courses and all that.

Don't know what it's worth on that side of the pond, but it's a lovely looking car.

    Good luck.

I like the interior of that car. Hard to say what it's worth. Prices are dropping quickly on Scags. I'm looking for one myself. Have you called the dealer? Make them an offer. I'd offer $180K.

Non-cosmetic OTO changes are 599 dual plate clutch and 599-like transmission. New engine type (F133H vs F133E) with probably more hp and torque (best guess 550 hp and 443 ft lbs of torque). F1 Superfast system vs F1A system to go with new clutch and transmission. Manettino vs push-button controls. Standard CCM brakes (Summer/Fall 2008).

    Comes with warranty.

    Your choice.
