I just purchased a set of 599 challenge rims without TPS that I plan on installing on a 612. I want to know if it makes sense to break down the OEM 612 rims and remove the TPS to install in the 599 replacement wheels, or purchase new ones. The rubber on the OEM rims are not in fantastic condition, but not junk. Also what new rubber should I install? Im looking for a decent ride more than race track performance; after all its not that kind of car. I think a lot of past conversation was favoring the Michelins. Anyone have first hand experience in this they could share? Ironically I dont have the car YET. But off to look next week in Phoenix.
I would say if the ones on the 612 wheels are original, then you would be better off to buy new ones. As far as tires, here's my review - https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/ferrari-discussion-not-model-specific/550557-new-michelin-pilot-sport-4s.html
Thank you for the advice Paul. Any suggestions where or whom to contact to purchase the TPS, and or tire work? I imagine the sensors are not an off the shelf part. I'm in Essex. Also thanks for posting your trip!
