In the near future I will address the rust spot under the hood from what I gathered it’s a common problem. I purchased a new lining to be installed afterwards, so now I am looking to buy the buttons that holds up the lining and from 3 legit suppliers prices go from 0.11 cents to 0.48 and to 0.90 cents.
    What gives?

And how many of these buttons do you need? Because even at 90 cents each, buying 500 of them is still cheaper than an oil change. :D

If there were buttons that were a $1.25 I would probably buy those, but my point is why such a discrepancy? All the sellers have the same part number.

different suppliers have differing levels of markup. Some see this as an addon item, others look to make a profit on every thing they sell.

I can buy the same screw from 5 suppliers. Fastenall is $.99, Home Depot is .69 and MMC is .30. Folks charge what they can.

Keep in mind, buying from a vendor overseas will require duty and more expensive shipping. US vendors pay both those charges to bring parts in and need to factor those costs into the unit sales price.

To add salt to the wound, if you were to buy it from me, your price would be $0.29 each.

The pricing matrix for EVERY dealer and EVERY supplier is different. Thus, if 7 different dealers buy a part from 7 different suppliers (or vice-versa), you'll have 7 different prices. There are probably 10-15 different variables that go into individual pricing of an item before it is even sold to the customer. Never personal, but ALWAYS different.

I needed a couple a few years ago.

I saved the postage by driving 200 miles to Ferrari of Washington and back in the 575.

And who says I am a sucker?
