Just Ferrari being honest. They expected to have the pace and they hadn´t. Of course this is cause for concern, but it is only logical that you can´t always be on top. At least it isn´t as bad as it is at Williams. They showed up in France with completely revised aerodynamics, and they were absolutly nowhere. Having said that: Magny Cours should be scrapped.
you know , for technical people to say that they don't know whats wrong, its the cue for them to be fired and replaced.
"If we knew what was wrong, we'd have fixed it already!" You can't put "eureka!" on a schedule. But from the sounds of that interview, maybe the tension between MS and RB has impacted the cooperation they used to have during car setup in practice sessions.
Yet more ammo to religate this season to a development season and try and get an interim V8 car on the test track ASAP so that Ferrari can try to get a leg up on the competition. Buy the time Ferrari finds a solution to catch up with Renault and McLaren those 2 will come out with a revision to the cars to pull away. Right now McLaren seens to have the fastest car on track with Renault lagging behind The only reason the McLaren is not at the top of the points standings is that they had very poor reliability. Ferrari has decent reliability this season that is why they are staying in a decent position in standings.
Thank God you don't get a say in that at Ferrari! Do you know how many teams in F1 would pay triple the current salary of Ferrari's "technical people" just to have them work for their team. Ferrari have the best engineers and mechanics working for them in the racing industry. The last thing that should be done is an employee shuffle.
speed development is like a moving escalator: once you've fallen back a few steps, it take herculean effort and a sudden breakthrough to catch up again... and F is 2 steps back of ever improving Renault and McC.. it could take all season... or into next. i bet next year's car is ready at the beginning of the season!
For a person to be putting on comments such as yours here, it is a cue that people like you who is clueless about F1 should not be posting on this forum.
step back and look at the results. they speak for themselves. your blind devotion is quaint at best. btw , who was going to feed me crow ? come on now , step up. just jokin ... I am sure MS will be world champion this year and Ferrari will win the constructors' championship again , no doubt this , they're so fast on the track , everyone is being left behind. no doubt this.
Hmm. Not sure I'd be so proud of that "victory". I still think however they will win a real GP this year. Still betting on Monza.
Perhaps Mclaren or more so Renault are cheating some how....you never know.....look what happened to BAR HONDA.
I am not proud of that race, that day or that victory! But a win is a win. MICHELIN's inability to provide safe tires is not Bridgestones problem.
HEY! :X None of us like the way they won that day, but the fact remains they and their suppliers were prepared, the other guys were not. Maybe you don't agree with how the race was run, but there can be no disagreement that Ferrari deserved that win, even if by default. That is a valid form of winning, and indeed far more valid than if events had been fixed to allow Michelin to race on equal terms.
There is a single Ferrari flag flying outside the factory to illustrate the ONE victory at the USGP. So... I am not kidding you! And it is not the only one that will be flying at the end of the season. I still believe!
C'mon Andreas. Let's count that one as a win. Then we can split hairs over whether or not a DNF should be considered a bad result if it wasn't the team's fault ;-)
