Which one of you was driving the red 275 GTB long nose in Mission Hills, San Diego this afternoon? It was really awesome.

I live down the street in Mission Cliffs. The only 275 GTB I know of in this area is a burnt-out wreck in a storage shed along with a Moretti and an early O.S.C.A.

Love to meet my neighbor with the 275.

    Cheers,

    Bill Noon

Bill Noon: Perhaps when you are buying you might describe this as a "burned out wreck" but I view it as a reasonably nice driver.

Malcolm, thanks for the pics. I can't wait till I get out there to see it. Beautiful car. And you can't beat the navigator (or the driver, either!)

Hers is a photo with the locally installed security system-this system is self-installing and requires no electricity, although it sometimes pxxxs on the wheels.

Wonderful photo. What breed is the handsome passenger? (BTW, the pilot is not so shabby either!)

Malcolm, it looks like it was your car that I saw yesterday. I would never describe it as a burnt out wreck. We just moved into the neighborhood last week from Poway. Kids go to the local school and the commute was killing the Mrs. Hope to see more of that car.

Dog is seven month old Doberman pinscher, weighs 77 pounds, should go to about 85 to 90. This morning he ate the registration paperwork for the Cayenne we bought to cart him around in, was starting on the plates when I caught him. Lots of laughs.

Would that be a Moretti Gran Sport? Not too many of them around. How much?

All three plus some Chyrsler 300 letter car are owned by the same family. The oldest daughter who lived alone in the house died a few years ago and I have only met the Grandmother who moved in once or twice.

I first saw the cars in 1983 when I was still a cadet in the Navy. They had been stored at that point for many years and today remain in the same state.

She knows that all four cars are rare as well as valuable but has no need for money or current interest in doing anything with the car (or house for that matter.)

The Moretti is a 750 Race Car with Coupe coachwork. The O.S.C.A.s are both early MT4 type Spyders, one with an 1100-1500cc type engine. All I know is that one of them was raced at Paramount Ranch and Hourglass Field as it still has hang tags.

I moved into an old "haunted" estate down the street 10-years ago as the property had two three-car garages and a workshop next to the old tennis courts and killer views etc... The engine from one of the O.S.C.A.s was stored in another shed on my property with the name and address of the owner.

The family had no idea of how or when the engine migrated down the road to my house and the kooky lady I bought my place from did not have a clue. Both houses were built circa 1927 by city records but no other ties as far as I can tell. (The main structure of my place was actually built circa 1885 with many additions thereafter.)

Anyway...part of the local area legend that is repeated by several of the pre-war residents regards the son of the family hot-rodding around in various Ferraris etc... back in the 60s.

The 275GTB was last on the road in 1969 but the non-op is re-newed each year by the family.

On an even further side-track are the odd bi-plane bits stored in two different local garages... Love to hear the story behind that one.

    Cheers,

    Bill

Bill, since the owners have no need for money, then it is your "civic Ferrari duty" to rescue them and put them into good hands. (Since the owners have no need for money, I'll give them $5000 for the Moretti 750. That should help pay for some kid to mow their lawns for a while.) A local OLD timer told me that he used to race a Maserati Osca. Wonder if those are the same type of cars? (He sold his car years ago.) I sure would like to see some pictures of that Moretti. I posted a note in the ITALIAN section a LONG time ago asking if anybody knew where a project Moretti 750 Gran Sport might could be found. Keep me in mind. ( I could NEVER afford the 275,.......unless of course,...they REALLY REALLY do not care about money and want to donate it to a good cause for cheap.)

Sounds like those cars have been hibernating a LONG time.
From what I read on this site, the Paramount Ranch race track closed down in 1957 after somebody got killed.

I think that I've figured it out now. Bill is the ghost of William Holden and he lives on Sunset Boulevard just a few houses down the street from Gloria Swanson's cobweb infested mansion.

Someone was driving around La Jolla last Friday in a 275 convertible too. Looked marvellous from a distance.

I wanted to pop into Symbolic for a wander but we were only in town for the weekend to get married and there was no time.
