Looking to find someone that wants to add to there collection. A Shelby, Interested in a 355 or Pantera maybe a boss 302 that also has some $ on your end.

My mother owns this beautiful Shelby, She has put $10K into upgrades like upholstery, seat foam, carpet , brake system replacing all the lines from front to rear /booster/wheel cylinders/calipers/master cylinder. Windshield, gas tank. Have the Marti report, Reg with SAAC, Signed by Carroll Shelby and dated above the glove box. Names of all 6 owners, In contact with the 2nd owner who built the (69 dated codes side oiler) and installed it. He mailed me the pictures/receipts/orig 428PI eng tag from the motor that he sold. I have copies of the service records from the 1st owner, History on the dealership 65-71, Painted in 2000 blue with white stripes from the orig green. Asking $145,000.00 Not many Shelby's have there history, this one does.

It has been a fun car for her. At 73 she is looking to let it go and retire. I on the other hand after 138 mustangs would like a Ferrari 355, Pantera , boss 302 since I have never owned one yet. So I get a car on trade and she gets the $ out of the sale.

True dat. The only thing worse than getting a Chevy would be to upgrade a 6-cyl early Stang to 8-cyl without doing all the upgrading of brakes, suspension, etc. I almost bought a 66 F/B that had a 302 put in without the necessary improvements...VERY SCARY!!! I went with a C-code F/B later instead...I loved working on it.

    Beautiful Shelby.

    Absolutely gorgeous car!

There's one of these (green) rusting away in a backyard in Universal City, TX. The owner's dad owned the car since new. The son (now owner) holds a class 3 FFL and let me play with his uzi's, hk's, steyr's, etc, but as soon got close to that Shelby he got a maniacal look in his eyes and growled "that car's gonna rust there until there ain't nothin left." Weirdest experience I've ever had with a Shelby owner.

Anyway, good luck with the sale, and best of luck to your mom! :)

Ok, so educate as to why these are close to $150k without the correct (i.e.: original) engine?

    Not a jab, just wondering.

    Beautiful car, GLWS.

    I would trust their opinion.

Not being in the market myself, I was curious to see if there were some rhyme or reason...

maybe for collector purposes, but i'll point out the side oiler is a better motor IMHO

The 427 side oiler by SAAC is a better upgrade motor. They told me this when I registered it. They also told me not many Shelby have this motor, Do to it mostly being used in the AC Cobra's . But was offered to Dealerships for purchase for dealer installed. Or the general public could also order one through dealer and install themselves.

Mother purchased the car in 08 for $150K then updated interior and brake system , some glass, tires. For around $8 to $10K . With orig low miles and two other Shelby's on SAAC listed for sale over $150K . We set the price lower and loosing but feel the time we had it and have enjoyed it allows some deduction but not to be killed by low baller offers.

In life when someone sets a value is only seen by the person that wants that item. All others just want what best for themselves. Live is not fair so you can ask what ever price you want but it's what someone will pay is the ending result . It takes two to make a deal. If no one likes what value I have then make an offer. What's the worse I can say??? Yes or No.

    Not upset by your questions

Thanks for your explanation, as I had no idea these were trading at this level with non-original components.

Again, beautiful car, I hope you can acquire full value soon.
