    I personally wouldn't touch it....
My first Enzo clocked almost 9,000 miles before I sold it....It's replacement has close to 4K miles on the ticker. Lots of stuff can & does go wrong in those precious 3,000 "break-in" miles.

So true Joe. And having one owner from new prepared to follow all the minor issues and fettle the car properly the past 6 years is a bonus.

By the way that is as tight an Enzo as I have ever driven in, devoid of all the squeaks & rattles that I have experienced in others..

Is there still a warranty being that it has never been titled? Could FNA deny warranty service since X number of years has passed since it was manufactured regardless of title status?

Interesting question. When I bought mine which was a new untitled one still wrapped in plastic with all recalls done, from a Ferrari dealer in in 2005 I got a full three year warranty.

    I'd check with a lawyer.

I doubt it. The following is how it works with BMW motorcycles, but I bet there is some 'standard' that most manufacturers would follow as far as the start of the warranty period...

A BMW bike is considered new until it is retailed via an authorized dealer. The moment the dealer reports the sale to BMW, the warranty period starts...

...the exception is mileage. There is a limit to how many miles can be on the bike to consider it "new." I forget the exact number for BMWs, but IIRC, it's less than 200 miles...if the bike has any more than that, it is either retailed (dealer essentially buys it) or it is put into "demo" status. A demo bike will be given an extra 3 months of warranty, but the warranty starts when the bike is purchased by the dealer or is flipped to demo status. If flipped to demo, it is still not titled, but the clock is ticking on the warranty.

Looking at it from a what might go wrong in the next few months or years, 681 miles is probably worse than zero miles and probably worse than 6810 miles. Ferrari knows that and probably has a warranty policy that reflects that...(I wonder how many times it was started so somebody could "hear the engine").

I'm not sure if an Enzo would have the technology, but for sure the current cars will tell the factory computer exactly when and how those 681 miles were done (i..e., exactly what day the car lost it's new car status). It's getting to be very difficult to fool the warranty guy.

Of course they could. The warranty period has expired.

FNA have no obligation one way or another just because someone keeps the miles low or decided not to Title the car (which isn't particularly unusual with these types of cars in the USA by the way)..

My understanding is that the issue is whether or not there was a retail sale. If the first dealer sold it to another dealer warranty doesn't start until that dealer sells it to a retail customer.

(I realize that individuals pretending to be dealers to avoid tax or run around on dealer plates is BS)

    Am I wrong about this?

    Cheers

You are correct if it remains within the Ferrari dealer network, and I didn't factor this in. I was assuming the car is by now with a retail customer who simply didn't drive it or Title it.

Agree with your comment about the pseudo dealers, which by the way, many states are clamping down on and consequences can be severe.

New car delivery points-by and large-"knock the 'RDR' card at point/time/date of first sale...regardless of if it is to another DLR or not.
Registration has NO issue of the commencement of the warranty clock...the date of said RDR tag being "knocked" is the date at which warranty commences to tick with respect to time...
    Mileage is another story...
This is an issue which few people realize/know/are aware of...it is the point of INITIAL transfer and conveyance from the franchised dealer of record for FIRST sale.
Inter dealer "swaps," of current in production inventory, typically, is not a consideration for such issues...
