    Just picked up an 04 Maserati spyder, with just under 6k miles on it. I wanted to know about the 6k service, and exactly what's involved. Is it just a glorified oil change?

    Yep. Maserati service is real simple.

    edit- I don't remember off the top of my head but check your owners manual and it'll tell you exactly what's involved. The 6k on my 2002 was an oil change and inspection of some things. The 18k isn't much different.
