Hello, did ever someone heard about a 7 Point VIN number/Chassis number?

2 letters 3 numbers and then GT - what can it be? It's on a 355 racing car. Car is from '98 or '99.

    Thanks for helping

    Could it be this?

In 1995 a special 'Challenge' model was offered, especially designed to race in a one make series. Underlining the F355's performance straight out of the box was the fact that Ferrari just fitted safety equipment like a roll cage and a wing to turn the road car into a racer. Over a hundred examples were produced and raced by Ferrari's customers in Europe and North America.

That number is not a VIN. Current VINs are 17 characters

Just maybe if it was a purpose built car (eg Michelloto) this is their chassis no - are there typical chassis nos in the Challenge section ?

In fact maybe the mods should consider moving both your threads to the Challenge section since you are not describing a VIN

Thank's for helping. Could it be a Ferrari built race Car? So, Never Street legal, built for racing. Could this be?
Think the best Place for the thread is here in the 348/355 section.

I believe the pure race 355s had no VIN, it sounds as if one was later allocated (made up?) by an owner in order to make the car road legal?

Car is Not Road legal, only racing. Built as a race Car, also in the Log Book. Strange...

Yes. Just wondering the location of where you are looking. On wheel stalk? Door jam? Passenger Door Jam? Windshield?
