    SAN FRANCISCO — A 7-year-old boy has finished his swim from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco's Aquatic Park.

    Braxton Bilbrey finished the estimated 1.4-mile swim in a little more than an hour. He's one of the youngest to ever complete it.
    (Note - perhaps youngest, as he was inspired by a 9-year-old)

    Bilbrey, a second-grader from Glendale who has completed several short-scale youth triathlons, jumped in the chilly waters shortly after 7 a.m. to start the swim with his coach and two other adults.

    "It kind of seems like a long way, but I'm not totally worried," Braxton said before the attempt. "It's not that far."

    I think a couple of those guys are in CA senate?
    Maybe little kids do better since more buoyant, and more of a snack to sharks of the bay than a thrashing adult. Certainly less of a sonic disturbance and smaller electric field to attract our non-evolved friends.
