I’m a bit upset with myself for missing the last one on BAT. I had been checking every other week for the past 6 months for a good one and totally didn’t see the last one. Was a local car too. Aside from the interior being black, was pretty much what I was looking for. I probably would’ve re done the interior to my liking. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-alfa-romeo-gtv-2000-22/
Apparently not enough.. $35k and I probably had $10k into the motor. a Image Unavailable, Please Login
Man. You didn't post on Fchat! I probably would've grabbed it at $35k. Motor must sound sick! Worth the $10k spent?
haha.. you are probably right.. i had several folks lined up which should of been my first clue i didnt ask enough for it.. yeah the engine ripped. Full race spec head, 10:1 pistons, Dcoe 45 carbs.. I built the motor myself and well worth the investment. I found this car in a Maine barn where it sat for almost 20 years. Originally from AZ and rust free but it had an old repaint in red that wasnt great. Ive been a member here for a long time but as a lurker. I didnt really feel right posting here until i owned the brand.
Restoration Performance Motors in VT has a Plum 74: http://www.rpmvt.com/inventory I took a quick look at it when I dropped my car off for service. Very nice looking driver.
Interesting. Only 1 pic? Plum would definitely fall in my "funky" colors category, but the price doesn't seem too bad. What color was the interior?
Some drool worthy builds to peruse while you search... https://www.alfaholics.com/gta-r/gta-r-completed-builds/
It's a great color. That was the original color of mine and the previous owner painted it red. I would of preferred the Prugna.
Is this Prugna? How many different variations of Prugna were offered? Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks like Rosso Amaranto. Which is considered an Aubergine not Plum. Thats a sharp color. https://www.alfabb.com/threads/1972-alfa-romeo-color-chart-reference-materials.3895/
this is the one i almost bought if anyone is looking. these guys know the alfas inside and out https://www.meccanicshop.com/1974-Alfa-Romeo-GTV-North-Salem-NY-Ridgefield-Danbury-Brewster-Westchester/used_car/KRNZn2bp644%3d
@ShineKen - Interior is black. Definitely a funky color, but also a really cool one. The RPM guys are pretty old school, but they are very, very good (see some of the videos on their site). I am sure if you give them a call, they'll give you a good overview of the car and can send along more pics. Frankly, if I thought my wife wouldn't kill me for getting another toy, I would be thinking about picking it up!
