thanks for sharing thoughts on the SRS. I'm in the market and trying to figure out whether to go with a GT4RS or a SRS. Anyone experience in both, please let me know. I drove the 4RS at PEC-LA 2 Weeks back and hell what an adrenaline rush. the noise was intoxicating. I love the back of the SRS. The roof doesn't concern me as much. whats more important is if its as visceral as the 4RS. Primary driving is the backroads and weekend fun. Not so much track days...those may be 1 a year if that. appreciate the input.

Reviews have favored SRS highly for your use cases. I only had SRS and it was quite a machine!

I’m thinking about doing the same. I took my GT3 RS to Daytona in the spring and I think I decided that I might prefer a purpose built track car for a variety of reasons. Worth mentioning, I’m a complete novice. When do you get yours? You going through your Porsche dealer?

Yeah through the dealer and I think next month. Im selling my 2 Ferrari Challenge cars. Im pretty much leaving the brand. In the fall I'm going to do a Lamborghini event and then I have to reinstate my license. I'd like to run Porsche Cup but I need to take the time to sharpen my skills as I haven't done much driving lately.

I’m curious, would you mind sharing why you’re leaving the brand? Is this for Challenge races or street cars too? Totally understand if you’d rather not share on public forum too. Thanks

Crappy dealer has ruined the experience.

I read on rennlist that a lot of people sell their SRS because it is so loud and it gets frustrating after a while..

Is that because they are not used to Ferrari, Lambo,.. or is it?

If they are mainly Porsche buyers I could see that. It is by order of magnitude better and louder than all the others (even the 918 I drove).

Man, I need sound. Based on what I read, I have not been that excited for long time while waiting on a car.

I wish it had either more torque when pushed or more character ie it got unruly and hard to handle. I know, that’s not Porsches mission.

Ive got 1600 miles on mine now, I love it. The JCR exhaust is starting to open up. Not too loud but definitely an improvement over stock.

Its never going to have turbo torque, but a Spyder RS (SRS) accelerates harder than a 458 Spider, particularly if specced correctly and you do over axle pipes (OAPs), which eliminate the secondary cats and really unleash the 992 GT3 engine.

I loved my 458, but I love my Spyder RS even more. It is a true coffin car for me and I drove it for 3 hours today, after having Kline OAPs and rear section (in inconel) installed this past week. Sounds amazing and now pulls noticeably harder than my previous 458.
The 458 still wins on overall sound and ease of convertible top use, but the SRS wins in all other categories such as 0-60 in 2.8 seconds, Porsche durable, more nimble due to being 500lbs lighter and also 4 inches more narrow and 4 inches shorter than a 458 Spider. Modern infotainment (Carplay/Google Maps), but with classic analogue gauges, dials, and buttons. Biggest shocker is that I even prefer the appearance of my Spyder RS over any 458 spider, which I never ever thought I would say. My Spyder is PTS with a one of one spec which helps.

To Dustman, I'd suggest you definitely do inconel OAPs + rear on your SRS and an antigravity lithium battery. If your SRS was ordered with LWB, PCCB, and Mag wheels, then this means your Spyder RS now weighs less than 3100 lbs with power of 530hp (after OAP).

Try it out your car after those changes and report back to us.

    Cheers

Do you guys think the WP is a must have?

I will buy one soon, buckets are a must but somehow I also like the clean look with painted hood.

Yes. And you can order WP with normal painted hood.

Nice spec. I had all options in Gentian.
Great car. Just barely missed the mark for me as a keeper but says a lot that I keep looking at the second hand market for the right color (V exterior and red buckets inside).

I think so, I also have the mag wheels. The car feels very light and nimble, I can make it do anything I want. It doesn't have the straight line power of newer cars but still a ton of fun.

This is the best combo IMHO. WP with painted hood. The car looks better with more paint on it, unnecessary to show off the bare carbon.

IDK, the stripes with the partly painted hood look very good to me but I do think it is color dependent.

Thanks! My main priority is visceral sound. Everything else is secondary. Has anyone owned or driven both (4RS vs. SRS)? Which one is louder and more emotional of a experience as a result?
