I thought to myself "is there a www.calenders.com?" and "would they have a Ferrari calender?".

    http://www.calendars.com/Product.asp?TID={1472BFF2-8129-447F-80AE-8895BC001AA9}&PID=1&MGID=-1&IID=27034

    It's $13.00, I'm ordering one.

The difference in undoubtedly in the quality and the fact that the one sold by FML is the official, factory endorsed one.

    Note the differences in logos.

The ones at the mall are not allowed to use the Ferrari logo etc (or will run up a legal bill in excess of the calendar sales).

It's like the difference between the Ferrari t-shirt that you buy at the gipsy market in Turkey (no offense intended) and the ones endorsed by the factory but the difference in price is indeed HUGE.

    Thank you, Jack...

We are the sole US distributor for Gunther Raupp's Ferrari calendars, which are authorized Ferrari merchandise... Yes, the Ferrari Myth calendar is $72.00 (+ $7 S&H), but you need to see one of these calendars in person to realize that if you're in the market for a "calendar", this is not for you; however, if you're in the market for art via beautiful photography, well, then, this is certainly up your alley...

As an aside, let's please try to maintain some level of respect for the English language... A calendar is something with which you keep track of days, weeks, fortnights, months, quarters and years... A calender is a machine that smooths out and makes glossy, cloth or paper, via pressing rollers (not to be confused with colander!)...

Studio Raupp calendars are DEFINATELY worth the $$$$$....

I have purchsed them thru the FoH Parts Department for many years, usually the F1 version......oversized, vibrant inks, etc.........a quality piece.

Sorry, Carby......is it OK Mr. Risi has a few extras?

Now if someone (like Jack, maybe) could bag me a 2006 Pirelli calendar, that would be something......but I'm basically a Goodyear guy.....LOL!
Kate Moss is in it, despite her lil' 'snow blind' detour...it's pretty wild this year, with special effects, as usual.....

Anyway Studio Raupp sent me an email, his new ones were out. Good stuff if you can get it!

All dealers go through FNA, who, in turn, goes through us, for all of Raupp's calendars... Although... i wouldn't be surprised if Risi got them straight the source...

    R. Lee Ermey evidently did that scene in ONE take, which is something given Kubrick's noteriety for reshooting scenes until they were perfect.

Rumor is Ermey sent Kubrick a 15 min audition tape of non-stop, DI screaming insults and got the job.

Just saw this thread - I received the Raupp calendar two days ago from FML.
It's a very large format-bigger than most calanders I've seen, and IMO the photography is outstanding. This is the most I've spent on a calendar, but it really is a beautiful piece of work. Each month's picture is definitley frameable, and I will probably do that after the end of the year. All-in-all, I think it's worth the price.

...and we appreciate your business...! Thank you...

i think few people realize how much art these calendars really are... If you're looking for something to count the days, these calendars are not for you... But, Gunther Raupp, the photographer, is an amazing lensman and the final product is exquisite... Like you said, these are framable pieces...

    How could we? You said:

The calendar pop-up shows three or four small pictures, nothing jumps out and shows quality worth 500% the going rate of a normal calendar. Perhaps this product would be worth $72.00 to me and others if we were able to see fullsized photos of each month. To me, it would seem a bit more effort in the marketing of said product is required to demonstrate to the potential buyer why your product is worth five times the going rate of the generic.

If I were trying to sell this product I would have full size pop-ups of each month. I would explain and show how people have framed the photos in garages with Ferraris. To protect the images I would put a copyright or trademark across the photo at a 45 degree angle to cut down on people trying to steal the images.

It seems like you feel you have a great product, but nothing sells itself. It is up to you to convince us to open our wallets.

The picture on each page of the Myth calendar - the one that costs $72.00 - is 19 inches by 19 1/2 inches - even if Rob allowed me that kind of bandwidth, my computer would lock up just opening a picture that size...

That's why these calendars cost more than the 12 x 12 car calendars you see in the check-out lane at Wal-Mart... It's the same reason a Ferrari costs far more than a Porsche with similar performance characteristics - it's a completely different work of art... Same reason why Filet Mignon costs more than a cheeseburger; same reason why a first class ticket costs more than a coach ticket - after all, they both arrive at the same time anyway, right...?

The six pictures i've put up for each calendar are merely previews of what you can expect from the calendar... These are not tidy little reminders you put on your desk... They're huge works of art that you hang in your garage or your corner office or wherever else... Though i've not polled our existing calendar clients, i highly doubt any of them buy these calendars to keep track of the months...

If you still feel that the prices for these calendars are outrageous, go to www.raupp.com and email Gunther Raupp, the photographer and creator of these calendars... Gunther will be happy to answer any and all questions you may have... If you'd like to order a calendar, our operators are standing by...

...actually, um... we don't have operators, but if you let me know, i'll take care of it myself. :)
