My 720s (bone stock 2018 vin ending 1485) is having its cats replaced after an intermittent engine system fault warning and the CEL coming on. I have never had to replace my cats on any car I have owned and i am very much concerned as to why such a relatively new car would need new cats. Makes me wonder if I should get an extended warranty later. Did this issue happen with anyone else? Is my car a lemon lol..I rather like my 720 I drive it everyday wouldn’t want it to start degrading. Dealership (mclaren Troy Michigan) didn’t say much

Sounds like you might be getting bad gas for it to do that, no not a common problem, switch gas stations, always use same station and always high premium.

Had same issue with my Ferrari, one bad gas station, clogged up one of my cats caused back pressure burnt a hole in my piston, bad gas is a real issue.

Man I’m petrified to hear that back pressure from clogged cats can so easily occur and mess up your car. I always use 93 but I guess not all 93 is the same, I’ll try to be more vigilant. Thank you for the reply :)

I always liked Shell...and I always got good results so far in terms of efficiency and sound.
