74 246 Dino GTS vent window locks

I use the vent windows but press on the outside of the glass when opening or closing the catches to take pressure off the glue.

 

I've owned my GTS for 37 years and have NEVER locked the vents. They are original and still hanging on with the original glue. My friend who I bought my Dino from (who owned it for the 2 years before me) warned me about the vent locks. He never locked them either. So it was a problem a long time ago. I'm glad he knew about it and warned me.

 

I took the small plastic strips on the quarter light off and sanded them down a little to relieve the pressure, they look closed but only just touch.
If anyone wants to break in there are far easier ways....takes about 10 secs with the doors locked!!!
