I have NOS shielded manifolds on my GTS. That shielding was made to rust! I think OMG Jon made some shielding out of stainless on one of his restorations. If you don't use the emissions air pump you don't need the shielding. The air injection makes the manifolds hotter.
yea i hear ya, I've done a few of the shielding for the manifolds but stumbled across this pic of a shield on the muffler end, never seen that before
Well, I jumped the gun. Should have looked at that big red arrow. I have a NOS USA muffler on my GTS I bought from FAF in Atlanta about 30 years ago. I'll take a look at it and see if it has that extra shield.
ok, any chance i could get some detailed pics ? Is there a shield on the other pipe coming off the muffler too on the passenger side ?
