Sliding into the red interior and turning the key I was rewarded with the sublime note of an Italian V8 directly aft, feeling her pulse at my back I said "lets go home" and we drove out on to the road.

The "tic" of the gate rewarded me with each shift up and down as we made our way through the side streets and to the freeway where we joined the flow of traffic and drove for miles. With each minute she seemed to change, the engine and exhaust became more present, the steering became more responsive, and she began to show me who she was.

70 Miles down the interstate and it was clear that this was not a test drive, this was a drive. We turned South on a county road and as we left the interstate behind I rolled the windows down and turned all switches to off. The first corner came to us in the form of a descending off camber sweep that seemed to go on forever, entering at 60 she seemed unchallenged and climbed to 90 as we exited onto the long straight. Shifting to 5th we climbed past 100 and to 120 before encountering a series of compact esses that she passed through with ease.

On the next straight lined with oaks we came across a pasture where others of her kind lazily grazed while the younger ones worked to find balance on their new found legs and they watched us as we blazed by in a silver and red blur. As I watched, I said "its time for your picture" and we reversed course and parked for awhile. I smiled as I looked at her, free of showroom lights and climate control, she seemed to smile back.

Happy to be a 328 owner.

Congrats from its previous custodian. So glad to see 75912 finally went to another good home after years of broker-bouncing. You have a real winner there!

And they are both in Texas, what are the chances?

Beautiful car, I have read about your car and mine in numerous threads.

At some point we will have to put them side by side for a photo.

By the way, were there 3 or only 2 or is it all conjecture at this point?

Thanks for the welcome and all the responses.

What a special car. She was driven more (290 miles) this weekend than in the last 3-4 years I believe, very mile a pleasure. My back is a little stiff today, they didn't have my 6'4" in mind when they made these cars.

The only thing that I found lacking was the AC, I'll file that with my complaint regarding the cleft in Sophia Loren's chin......

Thank you Anthony, its a great car.

I tried sending you a Private Message but your mailbox is full, would hate for you to think you were unpopular :) If you wouldn't mind sending me a PM with an email I would love to ask a few questions about the car from your time as caretaker.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks Michael.

The fact that this car has been owned by an enthusiast as knowledgable and passionate as yourself speaks to the quality of the car, and she benefitted while in your possession.

I look forward to talking soon about whats next....

It is my understanding that there are only the two argento/rosso cars in the US.

I drive my car a lot - it's almost a daily driver. It now has 47,000 miles on the clock. Runs like a Necchi Elna sewing machine thanks to Brian Crall/Rifledriver.

I put more than 400 miles on my car last week and frequently take trips to the Rio Grande Valley.

Could meet you almost anywhere - would love to as a matter of fact. Where are you in here in Texas?

    Joel
