    Hello all,

Members of FerrariChat have been invited to join in on a unique anniversary celebration at Camp Toccoa in Georgia on Saturday, June 1st.

June 6th will mark a very important day in history as it is the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France. Camp Toccoa at Currahee is where 17,000 men trained as paratroopers during WWII including E Company - Second Batallion... the famed "Band of Brothers". A dedicated group of preservationists have restored and continue to work on many of the buildings and parts of the camp to bring them back to how they were in the 1940s.

Their President, Patrick Hall, has invited everyone for a special "Ferrari Day" on Saturday, June 1st.
Visitors would stage at a local parking lot at 10:30am followed by a Sherrif's escort to the camp. Members of the Civil Air Patrol will help park and provide security. Once everyone is ready, they will give a tour of the facilities with a brief history of the camp and the men that trained there. There is a C-47 aircraft on site and they hope to have their WWII vehicle restoration experts there with a display of various vehicles as well.

Busses would then take everyone to the top of Currahee Mountain for some great views. Once everyone has returned and assembled, Steve Matchett (Former Benetton F1 mechanic and F1 broadcaster) will be on hand to discuss both Ferrari and WWII.

Then it's lunch time at 1:00:
Sandwich: The choices are Ham, Turkey, Chicken Salad or Pimento Cheese on a specialty bun.
Sides: Potato Salad, Slaw or Chips
Desserts: Grape Salad, Cookies, and various baked goods.
    Drinks: Water, Tea, Soft Drinks

There will be a goody bag from Camp Toccoa at Currahee as a thank you for coming and spending the day in celebration of this special time in history.

Of course, you're encouraged to drive your Ferrari (or other specialty car), but this is by no means a requirement - everyone is welcome!

    $40 per person.
You can pay with a check or cash upon arrival.
Please RSVP to Patrick directly and indicate your choice of sandwich and side.

Note that if you're an early bird and like to run or walk, they have an annual 10k run scheduled for that morning centered around the D-Day Celebration. Run/walk Currahee Mountain "3 miles up, 3 miles down". Simply find information on the website if interested.

    Thanks!
