    Hi,
Thats a very nice 308 you have there! Good work!
Nice to see other FCN members hanging around here, I think I've got some video footage of your car lying around somewhere here. We were the guys asking everybody to rev up their cars at the Jubileum drive :D

I wont ever do that again, that friend of mine wanted to hear and film everything...

    8valve,
Nice job and great pics! I also have a 77 GTB and I love those wheels on yours. They look like 16" wheels. Are they reproductions? I have been thinking about getting a set of those 16" aluminum reproductions from superformance in the UK since authentic 16" wheels are so expensive. I'm curious to know where you got yours.

    Best,
    Birdman

    Very, very nice!!!

    Few questions :

    1) Do you recall what material the black stripe that runs around the body was before it was painted? Was it electrical tape? Was it repainted matte black?

    2) What shape is the interior in? Did you do any work on it?

    Thanks!!

Birdman:The wheels were on the car when I bought it. They are original Ferrari wheels, by Speedline.
Slag-328GTS: the black waistline stripe was sprayed on, with matte-black. The interior is in a near perfect condition, 8 out of 10 I would rate it. When I get a chance I will post a few pics. The colour is Magnolia, with dark blue carpet.
    Thanks for looking, Mick

    Sounds awesome!

Do you have all 200 pics on the web anywhere? I wouldn't mind checking them all out!

I have spent the last month doing my interior of the 328. All the pictures are here :

I am a few days of being done - Will be taking some finished shots soon!

Wow, sorry I am seeing this so late, but what a terrific job! I congradulate you on taking on this job, as they never make "financial sense", but are done strictly for the passion we share in these cars.

    Cheers!

My absolute favorite car growing up as a kid. I drove my father crazy about that car. I tell my 2 year old daughter when she sits in my 355, that the 355's grandad is a 308. Enjoy in good health. You did a terrific job.

incredible resto...one question, did you fabricate the lower door skins yourself or buy factory pieces?

    Thanks again!
    pcelenta, just to clarify things:
quote:"As for the work that was done to the car, I did not want to make anybody believe it was done by myself, or in my own workshop. It was done by a pro, probably the best in the Netherlands."
But to answer your question: The body shop fabricated the lower door skins themselves, using sheet metal with some kind of zinc(I think...)anti-rust protection.

    Hello 8valve,

    don't stop posting pictures please.
That job-doku was realy cool! Your car looks so good now (I would keep it!).
Did you change anything at the engine? Is it original in all parts?
Choice to keep blu sera was bingo!

    congratulations

    Danke Cinquevalvole!
In fact I will post more pics at the end of March, when they will continue the paintjob. The roof and the reardeck will be done starting the 15th of March. This will be a bare metal respray, since the paint in these areas is crazing. From one of the other threads on F-chat I got the fantastic idea to have the black louvres on the reardeck not painted black, but anodized black(this is the original finish for these aluminum louvres!)I can't wait to see the end result, and I certainly will post some pics. Thanks, Mick

Oh, and I forgot to answer your questions:
I did not do much work to the engine: just a new clutch, new fuellines, waterhoses, and I had the airfilterbox redone in black crackle paint. You can see some of this in this thread:
    http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5780
    But no performance upgrades etc....

Do you mind me asking what wheels you've used. This probably comes as a silly question to a lost of you but I'm new to Ferrari ownership so forgive me.

But ofcourse I don't mind you asking, it is not very obvious from the pics because I do not have closeups of the rims.Besides, there are three manufacturers that supplied the wheels to Ferrari for the 308/328/mondial range like Campagnolo, Cromodora, and Speedline. The ones on my car are the 16" Speedlines, which (I think) were standard on the 308QV. Tyre size front 205/55/16, rear 225/50/16.
