    It's a Cadillac.
    The last "Old School" aluminum commercial A/P Boeing will build. Plastics are the future.

    Too bad the level of plasitics technology wasn't around when they designed and developed the A380. It's payload and performance figures as a result would have improved enough to make it a tough "bottom Line" competitor. As is, it's dry airframe weight is killing it.

    I didn't know about all that smart stuff when I was working on the design of that airplane back in 1988. That is one of Boeing's greatest airplanes, along with the B-52, KC-135, 707, 727, 747, and although I didn't work on it, the 737. I worked on the B-52 and everything else but the 777 has got to be a masterpiece. The wing design alone had over 150 iterations before they decided on a configuration, which proved to be the correct choice. It was all done on the computer and that was an industry first with 100 % success.

    I read a lot of science fiction books in class when I was supposed to be learning about political efficacy and social science and crap like that. That's why i ain't so social.
