Thanks guy! More progress. Next week the engine will be out so that'll be interesting. Working on the windshield trim, have to be patient and just keep going around it with a razor blade to cut the silicone thats pretty much responsible for holding it in and filling in the inconsistancies between the body and trim. Headliner out, ill send that to the interior guy next weekend with the rest of the interior so he can either do nothing with it or dye it or something its up to him and Brett. Notice how much higher the front of the car is without the bumper and headlights. I have to raise the ride height but with the bumper removal and a feather light euro going on in its place I may not have to touch the front end adjustment, the rear is still down too low however.

No plan on selling. If this goes the way I am expecting, Paul may have a Dino or Boxer on his hands next.

Thanks Ric but you know some people will pay to get a great car and market value isnt a factor at that point. Aside from my restored 308 I havent seen one for sale publically, maybe they change hands quietly?

I better hurry up and get this one done!

Continued to work patiently on the windshield trim today and it paid off. Trim is out and undamaged, windshield still in one piece. Hard part is done, getting the glass out is easy. Now that I said that I probably jinxed myself. Pulling the windshield trim, especially when the trim is pretty much flawless and the glass is original is a real worry, to say its stressful is an understatement. You dont want to stick anything sharp or pry between the glass and trim for obvious reasons so use your fingers if you can, didnt do much for my manicure though. Trim is held in with clips around the perimeter of the frame, ferrari must've used an entire tube of silicone to fill the air gap around the glass then press the trim in. Fill the gap around the trim and body and trim and glass, looks great but isnt fun to undo. Glass held in with dumdum.

Glad to help! It's held in with rivets along the length of the lip where the door seal attaches to the body. You must remove the quarter glasses and inner pillar trim (and mirror) to remove it.

Took the hood off, rads out, rad fans out. Moved to the rear and took out distributors, coolant tank, hoses, some linkage, rear wheels and poked my head around. Found a shoddy repair! The coolant hose that runs from the rear head then through the rocker up to the front of the car looked to be replaced. Looking inside the LR inner quarter panel shows a joint, clamps and the original hose running up to the front AND it was pinched between the inner and the frame tube. The hoses in the front are original too (heater hoses). The right rad fan has had it, the left fan I can clean up and service/lube and adjust the end play so its smooth and quiet.

    White clutch....

Tomorrow ill continue with the engine removal.

    Good day Paul,

I was curious... Do you know if the Boxer glass and trim installed the same way?

    Cheers,

    Congrats Brett!

Paul, what is the proper color/finish of the fan body and blades? I have seen black, silver and red/orange blades.

I'm curious why the fan blades aren't set at 90 degrees to each other. They look like an 'X'. Can anyone explain why this is? Thanks.

Interesting...it also late you pull them thru the front of the car with the grill removed, if you get them in the right orientation....:D

A perfect "x" would not fit thru to come out.....
