After making some space in my shop (cleaning up, purging and scooting over my other project car), I rolled in my newly acquired 78' 308 project and have started my quest to get it back on the road. I'm not going to go hog wild here -- I'm going to do only what needs to be done to get it back to good running and driving condition.

I pulled off the deck lid and removed the rear fender liners to get a better look at the engine. In the right rear of the engine bay, there are three mounting bolts and an electrical connector. The picture is taken looking to the rear -- the right rear shock is visible on the left and the coolant expansion tank to the right. What's supposed to be mounted here?

An emmissions charcoal canister goes there. The car can run perfectly fine without it.

I am not sure, but I suspect the electrical connecter was to go to the little blower which sucked fumes from the top of the carbs

Thanks for the fast replies. I want to hear more about this "little blower" -- anyone with more info?

Excellent! Great link -- I need to do a bunch of research to figure out what's supposed to be where and this is some great reading material.
