Hello guys, a few weeks ago I asked for some advice about a 1978 930 turbo I have an opportunity to purchase. It's a one owner car with 47,000 original kms, (approx 29K miles). Currently the car has a set of BBS wheels although the original Fuchs go with the car as well as the original rubber which are still mounted. Updated H-4 headlamps with the original lamps and bezels included. It is a sunroof delete car without passenger mirror. It has had a complete window out re-paint, my challenge is the car is guards red over cork, however, originally the exterior colour was green with a silver turbo decal. (this is what the owner tells me) If you could offer opinions on a few questions I have I would appreciate it? 1) I'm trying to identify the correct colour, the code is 365-9-3, any ideas? 2) I realize the colour change has an impact on the value and desirability, the question is how much, what value would you place on this car? Thank you for your input, Mike
Thank you, the code may have been 265 and not 365 as you indicate, the owner did say green so perhaps Oak Green Metallic is the correct colour? I'm not sure what will buy the car yet, he is kind of stuck on the number $45K due to a previous sale (almost 2years ago) which didn't materialize. He is an older fellow with several very low mileage cars, (1992 special edition Mustang convertible with 8,000 km), need for cash doesn't appear to be the motivator. I'm trying to establish a fair value any opinion? Thanks, Mike
if he is stuck at $45 move on. color change to me is real negative. a pristine 79 silver 60k mile original car sold on e-bay last week for $46. if i sold my 79 origional paint car w/ 40k i would want $45.
Agreed, the color change is the killer on this car.. Sunroof delete is a plus.. not many around.. but the color change out weighs this especially at that price.
Thanks for your input on this, it would be cool to own a 930. Knowing what you know, what would be the max you would pay? Mike
