blacked out trim I might be able to live with.
But those 'pimp my ride" wheels?
Car was in CA in 1991.
It was driven today but has been in the garage for the last 4 years? 100,000 miles? Engine = unspecified? Power locks? Notice how we don't show the motor or interior. Torn dash, but no picture. Look closely at the picture of the steering column. See the dirty carpets? Do you really need any more info?

I admit I'm a bit cranky. I spent all day in the Texas heat putting a tranny back into a 35 year old British car....but...people on Ebay amaze me. Seriously look at the ad referenced above; I mean come on do you really think someone is going to say, "Hey! Thats perfect for me I need to buy it" after seeing that ad and pictures?
You could always buy this one:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=019&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=290241520435&rd=1
What the h$ll the "buy it now" price is only $125,000!

    Incredible

    Thank you for the info.

I requested photos of the interior (including the ripped dash) as well as engine photos.

As for the wheels - call me impure, but I actually like them. :)

Interesting door handles and mirrors. I'd like a close up picture of those door handles. They look small, not just black. Also I like the phone dial wheels more than I expected to. No side markers at all, a look I do not prefer. And the floor mats look to have a little gravel on them perhaps from the photo location, so they might not be that bad, Dave. Paint looks excellent in the photos. I would want to know more about this car if I was in the market.

But no pictures of the engine or interior? C'mon seller, you gotta at least try!

You know I've been looking at this car again. Someone has gone to a lot of trouble regarding the bodywork on this one. Blacked out all the trim. Filled in the side markers, filled in the holes for the bumpers, etc. You can't tell if it has been done right, but it has been done.

I'm with you Brian, something is different on those door handles. Doesn't look bad. Just different.

having been a buyer and reseller on ebay and craigslist for many an item, one thing 'almost always' rings true...poor pictures, blury pics, limited pictures indicate that the seller is either not disclosing something or in some cases specifically hiding something.

I can't say that is always true as nothing is absolute, however, absolutely in every incident that I have been involved with that I was able to see the item in person it has turned out that the pictures weren't worth the proverbial 'thousand words'

This case may be different and if anyone gets a chance to see the car in person i would be interested to know.

I concur. I requested interior and engine photos 2 days ago - still have not received.

Spoke to the owner by phone - he stated that the car doesnt really have 100K miles, more like 60K. " huh? I said, please include a photo of the odometer (not that what's indicated means anything anyway).

I'm 50 miles away from the car. I'm not going to even bother if I don't receive the photos.

    errrrr

    :)

Hey MV - your profile photo needs an update!

What's with the picture of the Brits? Might I suggest replacing with a nice blue GT4 against a Colorado fall foliage background? That might be nice.

EDIT: Nevermind - Just checked out the photo in the details of your profile. GT4 with new wheels and Golden Gate in the background. WOW! Looks great.

Wow. What an interior job. OK, the steering wheel is original...
This car looks like some real money has been spent on it by someone who cares not one bit about originality, both inside and out. And just for the record I'm all for that - it is your car, afterall. Of course, resale value may suffer, but it is also your money. And there are people like me who are there looking for bargains. Not to MY taste, but someone out there thought this would be great and there's gotta be someone else who agrees.

It does look like the pictures were carefully crafted so as to not show the driver's side bolster. Also what is next to the parking brake handle? Alarm key pad?

And criminey (my grandad taught me that word), is it too much to ask to do a little vacuuming before posting pictures of a car for sale?

the photos seems fuzzy, but that is what you get from an automatic "fujicanolta".. it would not surprise me a second if the car was redone in the late 80's-early 90's.. none cared about originality then. the car could be nice though, you need the right light and a setting to make good car pix.. this building lot was not.. ;)

I'll add a few pix of my GT4, it has quite a few tatty spots but in the right lightning it looks nice ( my humble 0.02 cents) ... the opposit can happen to a really nice car if you have tatty pix..
