I was working on the 79 308 window lift and noticed two unpainted supports inside the door supporting the mirror mounting provisions. Are these stock or were they added by a p.o. to minimize mirror vibration? Also, does anyone know if the 6 pin power window switches used in 79 to 82 Fiat 124 spiders will work on the 308. Vicks Autosport sells them for $22, but said they had no idea about ferrari stuff.
Mark, I put an 18 ga. backing plate on the inside of the door skin curved to the profile then used riv-nuts instead of the screws to mount the base. Solid as it can be!
Image Unavailable, Please Login I had the common right side window lift failure or intermittent operation. After several hours of research on ferrari chat, YouTube, wiring diagrams, etc, the problem turned to be a loose left side connector under the clock oil temp guage panel. The seven terminal connector doesn't have a tricky latch just push it together as hard you can and hope it doesn't loosen up for a few years. All three switches work great now and the right side window is now raises faster.
