I currently have an '84 Euro 308 and I do all of the service myself. The situation is that my friend has a '79 carburated 308 and the car has seem much better days. His car will be in my garage next week for a complete fluid, filter, hose, brakes service...and a much needed cleaning.

Does anyone have the airfilter make & P/N as well as the recommended spark plug make & P/N for a carburated car? Are there any special notes I should be aware of when I'm changing the oil or gear fluid?

    Appreciate everyone's help.

Is the timing belt service any different with this year versus a 4-valve?

Timing belt service is the same except that the rear bank cam covers on the early cars are a bit harder to remove as one used bolts, the other studs.

As to filters & spark plugs, search the body of texts in the archives. Can get the filter p/n from the ferrari.uk web site.

I just bought my 79 308 several months ago and part of the service they did before I the car sold was a new air filter. The part # was Universal Filter Italiana 27.871.00 and they put $89.10 on the sevice invoice. Better yet I went to Advance Auto Parts (if you got them where you are) and I got a K&N filter for $56.48 two weeks ago. The item # is 17400186. They had 1 left in my area but the guy there said he could order more. The 308 GTB/GTS Owner's Manual say spark plugs are: Champion N7Y; NGK BP8ES; and Bosch W5DC. I hope this helps.
