I noticed on the headlights of this 79 Italian market car that it has an additional small lamp in the bottom of the headlight in addition to the central light bulb. Ive seen this before in european BMWs but the 76 BB italian market car doesnt have them or provisions for them in the wiring harness. Does anyone else have these and what was the market they were for? The BBi parts book doesnt show this but the 76 book does.

I took a few other shots of the car which for me verify the 8200km claim but then the paint looks like a new york taxi cab with 30000000000 miles on it.

this small bulb is normaly 12 V 2 watt or 4 watt

in german this is called "STANDLICHT", this is like in the US the sidelights, front side yellow, rear side red. in most europe states this standlicht the law says car have to have this. it is like parking light, only the parking light you may switch separatly only left side or right side. standlicht are both sides.

this standlicht is the 1st position of the light switch, 2nd position is low beam, 3rd position is high beam.

    hope I could explain a little? :)
