7th Annual Car Show for Veterans Info

Howdy all.

Here is the information about the 2010 Car Show for Veterans.

The date is Saturday, July 17, 2010 with registration being 10am -11:30am.
The majority of our Veterans are escorted out after Noon meals are served.

As it has been from the start, registration is 100% free.

The address is 3001 Green Bay Road, North Chicago, IL 60064. The best entrance to take is the entrance roughly a 1/4 mile south of the Green Bay Rd and Buckley intersection on Green Bay Rd. There is a guard house which is will not be attended. As you drive through, you can't miss the parking area.
Look for the Ferrari flags as Chelle and I will set up tents and chairs for the Prancing Horse community and friends.
Planners will be there early to help with clubs that arrive ahead of time to park together.

Free refreshments and food will also be available (Thank you Elks and VFW) for guests who attends while supplies last.
The VFW members will be working the grill, so Ann and John get to relax again this year! Thank you both for everything you have done the past few years!
And thank to Andreas as he will be bringing a little something for those attending.

We park cars with lots of space so our Vets have the freedom to move about with little effort. This also helps the volunteers with wheelchair bound Veterans see the cars without any risk of contact.

Last year we had over 225 vehicles in attendance, with an amazing variety of cars.
This is more of a private car show meant for the Veterans, employees and now Active Duty at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center.

We are the very first Federal Health Care Facility which has combined care for Veterans, active duty military and families. There should br more people than ever to come out to see the great cars and meet the wonderful people who bring them.

If you have not attended the Car Show for Veterans in the past, the smiles you see from our Veterans is worth every second. Families have thanked the medical center with heart warming stories of how much the car show means to some guys and gals who live and recieve care here.
The Vets talk about the show all year long, and now are just buzzing about it. So many folks stop me and ask what will be there this year and talk about favorites of the past years.
It honestly is an event that continues to give so much to some of the men and women who have served.

Thanks for passing the word JR. Especially to other Marines! If they are with MACG-48 I can stop by there and hand out the flyers to them as they are all welcome to come and visit

The VA does not have a website up in regards the car show. They have to be somewhat careful, especially with pictures taken as privacy issues can come into play with the Veterans. Michelle said she would be able to scan and post the flyers/registration tomorrow as well as some pictures of the past events if you like.

That is great news about your son. I am sure we will have another show at the hospital next year, no reason to stop at 7.

 

That is wonderful Skip, glad to hear you should be able to make it, we will make sure to save space for your merry band. And tell Mike to be gentle with my...I mean your Ferrari. Yes, I do love your 308 bunches.

 

Wow, that is great Skip! We will be there early and block off a large section for everyone.
