For Sale 8 ft x 5 ft San Francisco Ferrari dealership sign

I was told when I bought this sign, that it was the San Francisco Ferrari dealership sign, when the dealer
was located on Van Ness during the 1970's and 80's. Dealer moved to Mill Valley in the early 90's. The
September 1975 SF White pages phone book lists Ferrari Motors of San Francisco located at 1400 Van Ness Ave (Van Ness at Bush St.). I have been unsuccessful finding a period photograph of the dealer with this sign in front. Perhaps someone on this forum has one?

Purchased this sign from Thomas B. who owned and ran a body and paint business for 30+ years here in Napa, California. He decided to close the business, had a sale of his tools and equipment, and I bought the sign. He told me that he used to paint a lot of Ferrari's for guys in the Bay Area Ferrari club. He said he had owned this sign for more than 30 years. One day a customer showed up with this sign in the back of a truck and asked if Tom was interested.

Measures in at 97 inches tall x 61 inches wide (8 ft, 1 in. height x 5 ft., 1 in. width) so you need a very large wall to properly display. I took some night photos of the sign to show what it looks like lit up, but there is no light included. I did not want to modify or alter the sign in any way.

This sign is made from hard plastic and is painted on the inside. Has a 2 piece aluminum frame that sandwiches the plastic on the edges around the whole perimeter. There is some scratching of the paint on the inside. See close up photos of the areas.

I believe that what I have here is only half of the original complete sign. I think originally, the two sides were mounted to a large metal frame which mounted to some sort of a base or hung somehow. I'm sure it was fully illuminated.

Never listed For Sale anywhere on the internet. I'm giving members of this forum the first opportunity to buy, before possibly listing elsewhere.
