reorganizing 8 sticky threads in 348/355?

  1. leave as is.

  2. have a master sticky thread for each 348 and 355 with links to important threads.

  3. create a subforum for all important threads, only mods add new threads, all users can post.

  4. other.

I go through entire forum and clean up sticky threads now and then. 348/355 has 4x more than any other forum. :D

Are there any suggestions how to clean them up a little? maybe a master thread that links to the other 8 and then you can add even more?

my experience sticky threads are good for something important that activity wise might fall off the first page, but otherwise making a thread sticky often causes less activity because you scan right over them. also quite a bit to scan over right now with 8 to view the active threads.

open to suggestions, this is your subforum. :)

Scrolling down to see "normal" threads is long. Kids seem to like the stickys as a reminder "said" info is at their fingertips. Us "Older Kids" LOL No comment

A 348 and 355 resource thread. Not sure how you would set that up. "Sub" Catagory

I like a cleaner look personally

    :)

we could do a Master Sticky, even one each for 348 and 355. or we could do a subcategory.

Maybe combine all ownership registries, parts interchange, etc stickies divided up in their own subsections instead of having one or more in each model subsection?

I like to think it's because we're (348/355 guys) are so special! :)

I think a "sub" cat would be cleanest. When you just put them as threads it gets real unorganized fast and if they are links will keep reappearing in the reg non sticky section if they are sent to links

With subs would be to only lets a "mod" post new threads and end user to reply so it keep us monkies from going post crazy

Yes way too much coffee this morning I am doing a backup now of a couple big boards so "in the groove" here also LOL

I can't be the only one who looked at the subject of this thread and went "yeah, but a lot of the cars experience sticky plastics issues, so 8 threads on the topic isn't necessarily overkill..." :)

Back on topic: +1 for master thread, but I'm also fine as-is, I don't find it too cluttered in its current state.

    Cheers!

I say keep the parts interchange and DIY stickies as those are very useful. You could maybe even move those to the technical section, and make subsections in tech for those. That way when you go to tech they are easy to find. But then again tech would end up having half the page filled with ALL the different model stickies. Maybe a subsection here is what is needed?

The cars for sale should be in FerrariAds in my opinion.

+1 I would like to see one master for each model. That would limit even future ones from taking up space. I don't look at other models much since I don't own one but it seems like this groups info being within these stickies helps a lot of us do our own work. Just my 2 cents

    I voted sub forum.

Then we could have the sickies in the sub forum and people can add to the stickies.

Can we keep the sub forum at the top of the 348/355 section.

IMHO - the registry & sales threads into one main one. Do they really get the views?

    Leave everything else as-is.

    My opinion:

I really would not want to see separate subthreads for 348 and 355 posts - we all like to kibitz each other's issues. However, the stickys could be put into 2 subset stickys for each model, or general topic. You could have a 348 and a 355 sticky section, or Sales, Parts, Repairs subsections. Just keep it intuitive
