Wow, I can't believe how many cars have shields on them. Was this an option in the 80-82 model ;-). Nice bunch.

Sheilds were only put on 'race' cars so not an option on 3x8s - they were not listed in the official pricelists but many have put them on afterwards (with a variety of quality)

When I bought my '81 it had shields on but I have since removed them

Have I missed something then...is this just about cars BUILT in 1980, 1981 and 1982?

If so I will bow to your exclusivity

Edit...oh I now get it - this is for the 'i' cars generally made around 80-82 (so not carbed or QVs), sorry

We in the club know full well that the i is the real connoisseur's choice ;)

There are some who pay big bucks for a famous Chateauneuf du Pape when the same producer will have an amazing Cotes du Rhone that's to all intents and purposes the same quality at 1/3 the price or less.

I like "Runts of the Litter." :D

    And ONLY we know that the " i " actually stands for GTB/S " i MPROVED." ;)
