Ok, so i bought this card thingie... Will test it out later in the week... But, of course, not until AFTER i buy the card, do i have just ONE more question...

Do these things work internationally...? If not, is there one i can get that WILL work internationally...? Is there a way to make them work internationally...? Can i have two...? One for here and one for, let's say, Europe...?

802.11 is an international standard - although each region/country allocates slightly different frequencies/channels in the 802.11 range. Your card will work with what's available.

PS: I haven't tried it myself internationally yet.

I have a built in wireless card in my IBM T41 and I've had no problems connecting in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, the Neitherlands, and most importantly in Italy.

I hope Gerald has a good trip, maybe he'll buy you something nice at the auction!

Network technologies work with network technologies. It isn't like a difference in the power outlets, nor is it a difference like cell phone networks. Computer networks are quite standardized. So, 802.11b, g, etc. will work where there are 802.11b, g, etc. hotspots no matter where they are located in the world.

    Hope this helps.
