True, but not what I'm looking for..... I think it's a bit older then this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was in a soundtrack.
KISS "Beth" Beth I hear you cryin' but I can't come home right now.... Me and the boys been playin' but we just can't find the sound... maybe???????
Great song.... I know it well, but nope........ I'm pretty sure in the lyrics it has, "Me and the boys, me and the boys"
Twisted Sister did one with the same title- Wooh Always livin' on the outside, never had no place to hide Feelin' so alone I got this thing dead to rights, ain't givin' in without a fight How the years have flown Me and the boys we never lost control It's one for all, yeah, we take care of our own Me and the boys just wanna rock, there's some things you never stop We got it and we're never lettin' go, just me and the boys CHORUS: Me and the boys We make a big noise, we gotta roll Me and the boys We don't got a choice, it's in our soul Oh, me and the boys With our backs against the wall, no way we're gonna fall We won't go away Another place, another show, another face, another no I got somethin' to say Me and the boys we know our destiny, just how it is and how it's gonna be Me and the boys take what we need, get in our way, we'll make you bleed To the victor go the spoil in our creed, just me and the boys REPEAT CHORUS Solo - Eddie Me and the boys we never lost control, it's one for all, we take care of our own Me and the boys just wanna rock, there's some things you never stop We got it and we're never lettin' go, just me and the boys
I don't think this is it......... I tried to put the search in tower records and came up with nothing. Not even the Slade or Twisted sister titles.
Cain't so far find a smaple, but here's the lyrics from Slade's version- Me and the boys wanna dance and score There is a monkey suit across the door You ain't coming in now with your crazy crowd Oh no there ain't no jeans allowed Chorus Yeh hey we're going on the town Me and the boys are gonna wear you down Yeh hey we're going on our way Me and the boys we we're doing O.K. Down at the Raj we can all perspire The Vindaloo kid has got his jeans on fire Curry and lager are the spice of life Next day they're gonna give me strife Chorus R E P E A T Me and the boys well we got no doubt You're never too old to be a gadabout Can't take em anywhere they cause a ruck Oh no they never will grow up Chorus R E P E A T There in your jeans you know have cost the earth You ain't coming in its more than my jobs worth Look at the kid now with his shirt tail out Oh no you wanna hear them shout
You guys are great......... Real good attempts, but I don't think we've hit it. I would catagorize it like the "Boys are back in town" song.... Kind of summer, top down, mild rock..... "Blah blah blah, me and the boys, (yeah?) me and the boys" something like that
Listen to my story every word is true I'll tell you how we come together It was fate, it was great, we didn't hesitate We were all birds of a feather Until we started somethin' The party started jumpin' Jumpin' to the joyful noise Where we're coming from, we're born to run Born to run like Nylons Me and the boys, yeah me and the boys Me and the boys, oh, me and the boys Me and the boys, yeah me and the boys Me and the boys, rock on boys yeah Yeah, yeah, we get together, we make a little noise The boys, the boys, the boys, the boys..... Cookin' in the kitchen with my eyes on the stars I wonder when I'm gonna get to heaven Got a place to go to that is not too far When I get off work at 11:00 Goin' up to the rooftop, can't stop, too hot One of life's natural joys Well me and the guys like to harmonize Beneath the skies Me and the boys, yeah boys Yeah boys, yeah boys Now I come from Carolina down Atlanta way With a suitcase full of rhythm and blues You know I love you baby but I just can't stay Cause I got on my travellin' shoes Well, I'm gonna do it now, try my best to settle down But I never could endure The straight and simple life, it never did seem right And that's why I'm here tonight and I'm singin' with my Boys, me and the boys, me and the boys, me and the boys Me and the boys, me and the boys, me and the boys, me and the boys Dance, well I can really dance You ought to see me move across the floor, yeah Romance, well I took a chance I didn't know what I had bargained for Heartbreaks heartaches I just couldn't take **Stop treating me like a toy When out of the blue they came to my rescue Now all I want to do is just a doo-doo-wop Me and the boys, me and the boys Me and the boys, me and the boys, me and the boys
Oh CDB ... D'oh. How about Dave Edmunds??? Just a bunch of guys getting in the car No matter who's driving or for how far. Feels so good, yeah it's been so long. No fancy drivers tell us how to drive Me and the boys. Just me and the boys. Me and the boys. Me and my buddies just like to go We're having fun. Everybody knows. We don't fuss and we never cry. We're just grooving, taking in the sights. Me and the boys. Just me and the boys. Me and the boys. Don't raise questions about how it's done. We're just messing round, having fun. The car gears shifting well up and down. The muffler smells a lot, but we love the sound. Me and the boys. Just me and the boys. Me and the boys. It ain't like us to hang around this town Cause squares just bring us down. I've got to find me something new. Don't want to think about what they do. The future's coming round, and we don't care, Cause wherever we're going, we'll soon get there. Me and the boys! Just me and the boys! Me and the boys.
Could be.... you have a link to the sample? Do you know the name of this song? *********************************** WINNER******************************** Good Job http://www.amazon.com/Anthology-1968-1990-Dave-Edmunds/dp/samples/B0000032Z2/ref=dp_tracks_all_1/104-8542797-8494336#disc_1
Here ya go: Here's the original link I pulled the lyrics from.... http://www.lyricsdownload.com/edmunds-dave-me-and-the-boys-lyrics.html Here's another wo all the popups: http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/dave+edmunds/me+and+the+boys_20258324.html
you know, it kind of reminds me of the Bus Boys version which is different than Thin Lizzy's. It was in the movie "48 Hours".
I would have thought it would be in a soundtrack or two......... After hearing it, it is def. the Dave Edmunds song. I don't know if it's a remake or been remade. I ordered the "Here Comes the Weekend " CD that had Slipping Away also. Seems to be one of the few songs I liked. The Anthology had a lot of songs I didn't and "Here Comes the Weekend " only cost $7!
I knew you guys could do a better job then me. Every time I typed in the song title in Amazon it didn't come up. Thanks
I ended up searching around on google, but it was a few pages deep. On Thanksgiving, I was trying to remember the name of the Rush album with Tom Sayer (or Spirit of the Radio) on it, I could visualize the woman on the cover (and knew the 'other' album was Moving Pictures), but it was really bothering me that I couldn't remember it.... and I didn't want to break away from the festivities to search it on the net. Then I remembered 'Permanent Waves'.
