81 308 GTSi Hose Table 16 Item 48 replace

I have to replace the hose that runs from under the windshield area (behind cab wall) that goes to a tee, and runs under the front drivers fender and down to the aluminum pipe under the battery. I believe it's item 48 in table 16 (coolant system) and they call it an ac hose and charge over 200.00 for it! I'm replacing it with heater hose that runs about 10 bucks for that length. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has replaced this hose, I can't see how in the world to get to the hose clamp without removing the dash
