    Mark,

The car sold for $88,000 + buyers premium (5.5% if bid live, 8.5% if internet bid).

Pretty good price considering it was a poorly advertised auction of a non-matching number engine car of unknown mechanical condition - very pretty looking car though!

    Regards,

    Art S.

Thanks art. Not quite as strong as I thought it would be but pretty respectable. I agree that the advertising was weak, and it would have done better at a BJ auction.

    Mark,

I figure there was a 20% - 30% discount due to the nature of the sale (In addition to the sale not being very well advertised, I wasn't able to determine what mechanical condition the car was in or if it had books and tools). I would also factor in an additional discount of 10% - 15% due to the non numbers-matching engine.

If the car is in excellent mechanical condition, then the buyer made out well.

    Regards,

    Art S.

Two 330 GT 2+2 single headlight sold this weekend at Russo and Steele auction in FLA for about $120. Overpriced I thought.

I spoke with the auctioneer and as far as I know the car had no tools nor books beyond those shown laid out in the one photo. He also said " it runs perfectly (whatever that means, beyond the fact that it will start)
BTW are you going to the Maryland event TomY has set up?

    Cheers

    Warren,

My driving the car down depends on Tom Y. getting it back to me in time ;)

Regarding 8101: While buying a car under those circumstances is a bit of a gamble; I think the gamble was a reasonable one, it looks pretty and probobly doesn't need too much work.

By the way, I have seen the original car that the engine came from - it still exists.

    Regards,

    Art S.
