My 812 has been at the dealer for 2 weeks on the back glass recall. They are telling me that on some cars there have been reports of the trim pieces not fitting properly after the glass replacement, and my car is one of them.

Has anyone had issues with the recall replacement? 2 weeks seems like a long time for this to be completed, and I don’t even have the car back yet.

Dropped mine off late Monday. Got a call an hour or so ago (mid-afternoon Monday) that the repair was complete and that I would be able to pick it up tomorrow (Thursday) morning. Had hoped to get it late this afternoon, but all-in-all it seems like they didn't have any issues. Of course, I'll know more once I've picked it up and had a chance to look it over.

examine the interior trim panels that meet the headliner for fitment. That is the issue I am being told is going on with my car.

Silicon Valley Ferrari. I talked with the service manager yesterday and I am conflicted. They are trying to make everything roght but he said the parts just became available and mine is the 2nd 812 they have done the glass replacement on.

Per factory recall the dealer has to undertake (complete) the job within 2.65 hrs (3 hours).
Mine is this week at my dealer, they have done about 15 so far. No big deal.

And your dealer didn't provide you a replacement (courtesy) Ferrari during those two weeks?

What sucks is my car is affected by this recall as well but I've got really expensive window film on the window and don't want to eat the cost to replace.

Jeff, if you haven’t already, you should make an unannounced visit to your dealership. I’d be concerned that there is something drastically more wrong than they are letting on. Of course, it could just be them stalling for not getting the job done yet. But you should go and see the car in person if you haven’t.

I am in a similar boat. It sucks that we are on the hook for it. I’m getting my glass replaced soon, as I have a replacement kit reserved. Just waiting for the next available day. I just feel as though Ferrari should provide some form of compensation for the replacement film.

No replacement kits at my dealer or if they have them they haven't contacted me.

I’m in the same boat. I wonder if I can get by without having it replaced.

    Why, please?
It was your decision to "modify" (or "upgrade") the rear window on your 812 by adding a film. Your car wasn't delivered that way. The factory replaces exactly what they sold originally, but not more.
If your car came originally with a tanned rear window then you will get a tanned one. If it came without tanning the replacement will be a window without.

Ferrari was also supposed to sell me and deliver to me a car that was in working and safe condition. Low and behold, they did not, which is no fault of my own. I had no way of knowing that the glass had to be replaced. It is not my responsibility to assume sections of the car will need to be replaced due to a safety recall. If they had warned me "hey, we need to replace the glass" then it would be a different story. But why should I assume that the GLASS isn't glued in properly and they have to replace the whole thing?

The factory (or your dealer) sent you a registered letter informing you that the rear window has to be replaced, for your own safety. So they did warn you.

After I had already taken delivery and tinted the windows and applied film. So it wasn't an advanced warning, it was after the fact.

Look, I understand you are a long time client and insider with Ferrari Marcel. That's totally fine, and I applaud you for sharing knowledge on this forum. But I think we are going to need to agree to disagree on this one.

I expect Ferrari customer service to be above and beyond. They delivered to me a car that wasn't in 100% safe working order. I applied tint and film with no knowledge the rear glass would need replacement, I didn't drastically alter a stock car. The least they could do is give me some form of credit or help cover the cost of replacing the tint and film.

    I agree to disagree.

What happened to you and all other 5'100 Superfast owners on this planet can happen with any car, even a Dacia, Tesla or whatever.
Your expectations are way too high.
One of my DD's is an AMG GLC 63S and within one year I had three factory recalls! All with the same car. Same dealer, same manufacturer. And that is my fourth AMG GLC 63S I bought brand new in a row.

BTW, how much was that applied tint and film? 500 bucks? Just asking since I have no idea whatsoever.

It was around $1000 or so. Which no owner of a $400k+ car should lose sleep over, and I don't. I just think it sucks that Ferrari basically says kick rocks when it's not my fault it needs replacement. So I'll shell out the extra money, and I'll survive just fine. I'll just be a little sad about the customer service.

not to get sidetracked but did you apply a tint or go with a 0% tint UV blocker?

I look at it as insurance. Maybe it bought you some extra luck in that there will be no scratches or other damage to the outside/inside from getting the repair. Of course, if they do mess something up then it hurts even more.
