Hello guys, I just got myself into little bit of a "first world problem" and would like to hear your thoughts on what you would do in my situation. It might get a little lengthy so here it goes.

At the end of September 2021, I had an appointment with local Ferrari dealer as I wanted 812GTS, he said that it should not a be problem, but I should expect the car at the end of 2022 - no problem for me. We played with the spec and after looking at the samples I decided for a different one than I initially wanted (more on that later). Day or two after this the news broke that order books for GTS are closed so I asked him how we are looking and he said that in fact he did not had any allocation for me and I’m just on waitlist but he was confident that it would not be a problem obtaining one for me. Couple of months passed, no word from him, we were supposed to have Atelier meeting at the end of February 2022, nothing. Then in April I got message from a guy that I have my F8 from (basically luxury car reseller) that they will have 812 GTS for sale if I want to have a look, he sent a couple of photos, and the car looks perfect - it was basically the same spec I wanted at first place but chickened out as I was not sure how it would look in real life. Missing just some minor details, but the paint, interior (Blu America over Cuoio), wheels, calipers all the main things were there. So, I called the Ferrari dealer to give me some updates and he finally admitted that he tried all he could, but it is not looking good, that regional management keep promising him the slot blah blah. At that point I decided to screw it and bought the Blu America from reseller. Mind you I paid around 100k euros over MSRP as is usual for those in Europe. So, I had the car for month and a bit, did around 1500kms and what do you know - Ferrari dealer called that in fact he secured the allocation for me. Yesterday I was there, signed a contract, have Atelier meeting approved by Ferrari in Italy early October and I could have the car in summer 2023.

So now I’m trying to figure out what my options are. To start with, I’m still not 100% sure I will get the new car, there is a paragraph in the contract that the dealer has to confirm that Ferrari in fact accepted the order by the end of September and then I have the Atelier session booked couple days after, so I don’t really want to sell the current car before that just to be sure.

Another thing is the mileage, I had some trips planned for summer with it, but now I’m not sure if I want to add any more to it to keep the price as high as possible. On the other hand, it would be bit sad no to drive it in summer and I’m not sure if there might be any significant price drop would it have 1500kms or let say 3000kms?

Also, and now we are really crystal balling here, it could be also possible the closer to the end of production, used car prices might go up so sitting on the car and selling it next year might be a good idea. Or not.

So, this is it, sorry for the wall of text, but I wanted to put some context here, looking forward to your thoughts. Thanks!

Enjoy your life. Drive your GTS now and wait on what will happen.
You really want to not drive this amazing machine just because it might depreciate a bit and you could wait for anotehr year to drive your 'new' GTS?
    You will hate yourself afterwards!
The GTS price will not drop regardless if you add a few thousand km's on it.
100K over MSRP is a good deal; very good deal in hindsight!

Keep both and enjoy get rid of the first one only after your car arrives. Don’t worry about the depreciation at most you may get your money back at the end if not more.

I personally would keep both. With one being held back a little it makes it more special, and the other is now free to rack up the miles. I cannot predict the future but my guess is an 812GTS with reasonable miles on it will be worth a lot of money, much more than MSRP.

Drive it(current GTS) you still are not guaranteed the new order is locked and loaded. Besides, 100k over MSRP is what you pad for it. Car is valued much much higher. You shouldn't lose a penny, in fact, the new one if it comes is at MSRP so you are way ahead. Your life depreciates every single day, it's one less breath, step, and sleep. Enjoy life.

Ferrari does not charge over msrp - the buy in is expensive as it may take a used F car purchase.
Luckily the region has a new F dealer and there was no waiting line - ordered GTS SF90.
Receive GTS soon - company like Ferrari building a car for you is very special - enjoy it.
